You are invited…
What? Congregational Lunch Meeting
Who? All Glenbrook Members and Adherents
Why? For the Search Committee to receive input from the congregation in the search process
When? Following the service on November 9th from 11:30 to 1 pm
Session has appointed a Pastoral Search Committee: Conrad Fujimoto, Grace Thomas, Justice Agyemang, Margaret Leaver Power, Nancy Alexander, Samantha De Jourden and Ward Pipher.
We are fortunate to have Pastor Stephen Rothery, our interim moderator, lead the Search Committee in congregational analysis and setting goals for the future. This undertaking occurs early in the search process, and its purpose is to help identify the roles and expectations of both minister and congregation.
Congregational involvement early in this process is essential. While self-analysis can be challenging for a congregation, it can help the congregation to understand itself clearly and thus provide a more accurate basis for assessing the suitability of a particular candidate for that congregation.
We would like to begin this process of self-analysis with our congregation on
Sunday, November 9th
by inviting our members and adherents to stay for a light lunch and discussion immediately following the morning service. The meeting format is designed to give everyone an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas but also to respect those who would rather share their perspective more privately. We will make this option available to folks following the meeting.
When we have completed this step, we will begin work on our next step…the Congregational Profile Form. When completed, the profile will provide general information about the congregation and community, the goals and objectives of the congregation, the pastoral skills it needs, and a position description for the minister.
Please join with us on November 9th for this important meeting. We will conclude the session at 1pm sharp. We are also requesting cookies and squares for dessert, and a sign-up is located on the table in the foyer.
