Hello Glenbrook,
I hope you are all enjoying this incredible weather and you’ve been able to get outside and soak in the sun. It’s pretty amazing how a sunny day can really change your entire mood. There aren’t too many new announcements, things have quieted down here for the summer. I hope you can also take in the weekend with friends or family and enjoy these weeks as they come and go too quickly!
Take care everyone,
Andrea
DEVOTIONAL
It Takes All Kinds
1 Samuel 16:7 – The Lord does not see as we see. We look on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.
Max Christensen has written a book entitled, Turning Points: Stories of People who made a Difference, and in it he recounts the stories of many people who felt like nobodies who become somebody because they trust God and believe God wills the very best for them and from them. We all need to be changed. Our stories need to be added to their stories until everybody's story is part of God's story and we all become the people God wants us to be.
It took children to tells the disciples what the kingdom of God was really like. It took women to anoint Jesus for his death. It took a doubter like Thomas to see in Jesus the Son of God. It took a fighter like Paul to convince the world of who Jesus is. It takes all of us to tell the world that Jesus is with us still. A whole lot of nobodies, all working together, can plant all kinds of mustard seeds and watch them grow and see how God can use them to bring in his kingdom of love and peace. God chooses you. No matter what you look like, how important you are or think you are, how big or small you feel. God looks deep within and chooses those who can love, and care, and share, and sacrifice, and in everything, follow. It truly is more than skin deep.
Prayer: Lead us, Lord into a life that brings honour to your name. Look deep within us and draw out the best and help us offer the best in your name always, for we ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

LETTER & SURVEY FROM PASTOR STEPHEN
Hi folks,
I met with Session this week, and we spoke about what the coming months might look like. While a Search Committee hasn’t been formed yet, I’ll be around and working through the summer, collaborating with both Session and members of the Glenbrook congregation to get things rolling throughout July and August.
I’d love to hear from congregation members about what they value most about being part of Glenbrook, their hopes and dreams for future mission and ministry, and any ways they might be able to contribute during this season of transition.
I put together a short survey here that will collect responses until mid July: https://forms.office.com/r/hKv29Z9X4J
Finally, I encourage you to continue praying for your community—especially for those on Session who carry particular leadership responsibilities during this time.
Thanks and God Bless
Rev Stephen Rothery
