August 23, 2025

Hello Glenbrook,

I was driving to Toronto the other day and I could see the lights from the CNE in the distance and the memories of those wonderful summer days flooded over me. I can clearly recall the first time I rode the “Flyer” rollercoaster, and my hat went flying! Or the screams from the Polar Express as it zipped around.  Fantastic memories. I was looking at the performance schedule and The Commodores will be at the Bandshell this weekend, that would be fabulous to see!  However way you do spend your week, I hope it’s a great one.

We have some special guests joining us for Sunday Services.  This Sunday August 24th will be Pastor Steven, August 31st we will have Chris Starkey and Sept 7th will be Victor Sheperd.

Take care of yourselves and I’ll see you back here next week

Andrea

Update from Pastor Steve

Hi Folks, I hope you are enjoying your summer.  In terms of the next steps at Glenbrook, I also just want to give a bit of an update. I met with Session a few weeks ago and we decided that we would not seek to appoint an “Interim Minister” for 1-2 years but rather would continue to focus on Pulpit supply start the process of forming a search committee.

The pulpit supply for Sunday services will be covered by a range of different people over the summer and I am working on finding someone who can provide more consistent preaching for from October through to Christmas.

In terms of the Search Committee, this is a Session responsibility, so they are currently seeking to discern how best to form this committee to help Glenbrook take the next steps to fill the vacancy.

Thanks and God Bless

Pastor Steve

GLENBROOK ANNOUNCEMENTS

Pam Nelson 🕊️

We have received the sad news of the sudden death of our dear friend, Pam Nelson.  Pam has been in poor health for many years. She always watched the Glenbrook Church service from home with her furry little friend, Missy.  Pam has always been cheerful and glad of a chat.  Gina Calderan spoke to her every day which they both appreciated.

Pam and her mother moved from Montreal when Erin Mills was in its infancy.  They joined Glenbrook many years ago.  Her Mum was a widow, and Pam had a job in Insurance.  They loved their new home.  Pam leaves a brother in B.C and his family.

Pam's little cat needs a home.  If you would be able to look after her, please let the Glenbrook office know or reach out to me.

Pam will be missed by many of us, but we know our Lord has her in his arms and she is at rest.  Blessing to all who are mourning Pam's passing
