Hello Glenbrook,
As mentioned last week, this week’s “What’s New” is a Saturday edition as I was away. I hope you all had a great week. I was very lucky to have some fabulous weather up north, so I am so very grateful for that. There are some new announcements below including “Lemonade On the Lawn” so please be sure to scroll down. I will include Pastor Stephen’s note from last week in case anyone missed it, there is also a survey so be sure to fill it in. Lastly this Sunday is Pastor Ian’s last service with Glenbrook so please join us here or online for this special service.

LETTER & SURVEY FROM PASTOR STEPHEN
Hi folks
I met with Session this week, and we spoke about what the coming months might look like. While a Search Committee hasn’t been formed yet, I’ll be around and working through the summer, collaborating with both Session and members of the Glenbrook congregation to get things rolling throughout July and August.
I’m also working with the worship team to support Sunday worship services during this time and will be joining you on July 6 to “Preach the Pulpit Vacant” following Rev. Ian’s retirement at the end of June. (Though I may bump into you at Church events at Glenbrook prior to this)
In the meantime, I’d love to hear from congregation members about what they value most about being part of Glenbrook, their hopes and dreams for future mission and ministry, and any ways they might be able to contribute during this season of transition.
I put together a short survey here that will collect responses until mid July: https://forms.office.com/r/hKv29Z9X4J
Finally, I encourage you to continue praying for your community—especially for those on Session who carry particular leadership responsibilities during this time.
Thanks and God Bless
-Rev Stephen Rothery

Saying a HUGE Thank You and GOODBYE to Victoria
The children and youth of our congregation along with some church family relatives and friends have really enjoyed the 6 weeks of programming Victoria has provided. There have been games, memory work, bible stories and friendship building. Now we break for the summer when some new Activity Bags and some new books for all ages will be placed in a prominent area for children and youth to make use of during the summer services.
More news about Sunday School and Children's and Youth Ministry will come as we move forward.
Please Remember that we need to offer our Appreciation to Natasha for acting as host in the Nursery every Sunday.
The Nursery will continue to be open for infants to the age of 4 years over the entire summer.
We NEED VOLUNTEERS to sign up for Nursery duty for the summer - Thank you for watching for an email from Lois.
Happy Summer to everyone!
-Cynthia

Our PWS&D Champion Ellys MacKenzie has been keeping us updated regarding World Refugee Day. Attention to the refugee crisis isn’t just 1 day, no one chooses to be a refugee. Refugees and internally displaced people are forced to flee their homes out of fear for their lives, safety and freedom.
