October 3, 2025
Hello Glenbrook,
The weather is soooo lovely, I really hope everyone has been able to get outside even for a bit, sometimes even 10 minutes can do wonders for you! I hear the fall colours are already appearing near Mono Mills area, a perfect backdrop to a lovely pumpkin spice hot drink. See you all next week and please be sure to scroll down as we have some new messages to share.
Please join us this Sunday Oct 5th as we have Henry Reinders join us from our Good Neighbour Food Grains partnership. He is the Regional Coordinator for Canadian Foodgrains Bank. There will be a table where you can read all about the initiatives. On October 12th and October 19th, we are blessed to have Rev. Dr. Victor Shepherd join us again.
Have a great week, everyone.
Andrea
A MESSGAE FROM PASTOR STEVE
Vacancy Update
Session has appointed a Search Committee, and we held our first meeting this week.
The Search Committee members are:
Conrad Fujimoto, Elayne Thomson, Grace Thomas, Justice Agyemang, Margaret Leaver Power, Nancy Alexander, Samantha De Jourden, and Ward Pipher.
The first task of the committee will be to prepare a Congregational Profile. This will involve consultation with the congregation, likely beginning later in October or early November. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the process, or if you would like to share your hopes and dreams for Glenbrook, please feel free to speak with any of the committee members. Above all, I invite you to keep them in your prayers as they begin this important process of discernment
Thanks, and God bless,
Pastor Steve
GLENBROOK ANNOUNCEMENTS
GLENBROOK GOLF TOURNAMENT
Once again, the Annual Glenbrook Golf tournament was a great success accompanied by probably the best weather ever. We had 18 people who "golfed" this year and thanks to the scramble format the team scores were pretty close. The winning team was the George Thompson Trio with a 2 under par score. Many thanks to all the "behind the scenes" workers who made the post golf dinner a great success.
FOOD GRAINS SUNDAY
This Sunday October 5th we will celebrate our Good Neighbour Food Grains partnership with Guest Speaker Henry Reinders, Regional Coordinator for Canadian Foodgrains Bank and our Good Neighbour partners. We will be launching our Glenbrook fall campaign for our Good Neighbour growing project which responds amazingly to God’s call to reach those in desperate need in our world. Please check out the table set up by the lounge area for some more information on this incredible project. Thank you for your faithful support!

MUFFINS FOR MISSIONS IS BACK!
October 5th will see the return of the much-loved monthly event.
A big thank you to all the volunteer bakers. We welcome everyone to remain after service for a visit and coffee and a muffin. All donations will go to the Presbyterian World Service and Development.
Another Thank you goes out to those who cooked, shopped and donated of their time and effort for the Open Door Lunch this past Thursday. The need is great, and the time together produces such reward. There were many compliments for the yummy Shepherd's pie dishes.
There is another opportunity for others to get involved in this ministry coming quickly on Saturday October 18th. This one involves less cooking as we will need 5 loaves of cold sandwiches, and baked goods and a few servers. Raw Carrot soup will be served to make this meal complete.
We have never done a Saturday, so we are hoping this enables some new people to participate. SIGN UP IN THE LOBBY.
RAW CARROT
The cooler weather of Fall is upon us and thoughts of warm soup are wafting in. Geraldine and Cynthia are making plans about this season of Raw Carrot Ordering. Stay tuned for details in the coming weeks.
The Raw Carrot Enterprise has always had a special opportunity offer, to enjoy 10 months of delicious, handcrafted, limited-edition soup, made in small batches and available exclusively to Soup of the Month members.
If you are interested in joining Soup of the Month, see Geraldine or Cynthia at coffee time to learn how to join. Look for the orange table.
