A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR STEVE

Vacancy Update from Pastor Steve

Session has appointed a Search Committee, and we held our first meeting this week.

The Search Committee members are:
Conrad Fujimoto, Elayne Thomson, Grace Thomas, Justice Agyemang, Margaret Leaver Power, Nancy Alexander, Samantha De Jourden, and Ward Pipher.

The first task of the committee will be to prepare a Congregational Profile. This will involve consultation with the congregation, likely beginning later in October or early November. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the process, or if you would like to share your hopes and dreams for Glenbrook, please feel free to speak with any of the committee members. Above all, I invite you to keep them in your prayers as they begin this important process of discernment.

Thanks, and God bless,
Pastor Steve

GLENBROOK ANNOUNCEMENTS

OUR NEW FAMILY OUTREACH CO-ORDINATOR

Please welcome our newest addition to the Glenbrook family!

“Hello! I am Nancy Law, your new Family Outreach Coordinator.  My son and I have lived in Mississauga for the past 30 years.  I have been involved with Children and Youth ministries at Dixie Presbyterian Church here in Mississauga.  I also volunteer at The Dam Youth Drop-In Centre on Tuesday afternoons.

I have loved going to camp since I was 8 years old and am a huge Christian Camping supporter. I am part of Camp Cairn’s Alumni Committee.  I truly do feel closest to God when I am in nature and love outdoor activities.

I play acoustic guitar and sing. My friends and I like to get together and play guitar, and we also host coffee houses several times a year.

In my professional life, I worked as a supply chain analyst for a Chemical company.  I am now happily retired from that industry and delighted to be taking on this new role at Glenbrook.

A big welcome to Nancy and be sure to introduce yourselves when you see her!

JOIN OUR GLENBROOK GOOD NEIGHBOUR FOOD GRAINS CAMPAIGN THIS FALL!!

We thank God for calling us to this mission of mercy and love.

Our Good Neighbour campaign will run from Thanksgiving through November 23, 2025 (however, you may donate at any time).

Our goal is to reach $6,000 to support our Good Neighbour Project as it reaches out to bring relief to world food emergencies and food unsustainability.

NOTE: Our Canadian government through our partner Canadian Foodgrains Bank, provides additional funding of up to 4X this amount and grows our $6,000 contribution to $30,000!

Live Stream Issues - The Audio/Video team have been working to resolve periodic problems with the Live Stream of our Worship Services.  Without going into the technical details of the cause of the problems and several attempts to fix these, Caroline and George believe they now have a resolution to the problem and have created a "checklist" of equipment settings that will be followed before each Service begins.
