Hello Glenbrook!

Happy February! It looks like Wiarton Willie didn't see his shadow, so perhaps we will have an early spring!  The story of Wiarton Willie begins in 1957, when "a local by the name of Mac McKenzie decided that his little town of Wiarton could use some 'livening up' in the bleak months of winter. He sent out invitations to all of his city friends, welcoming them to a Groundhog Day celebration in his hometown"

I can honestly say that every time I've been to Wiarton (which has been many), I have never once seen Willie! Maybe one day 😄
Have a great week,
Andrea

Volunteer Opportunity for the Board of Managers

We are looking for 3 Members at Large to attend our monthly meetings

We meet the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm at the church, except July and August.

The Board of Managers is a team of approximately 10 people who serve the Lord and our Church Community as it pertains to the operation of the building, and various other committees.

Areas include Envelope Secretary, Treasurer/Bookkeeper, Health and Safety, Fire, Security, Insurance and tracking Assets, and Leading with Care.

This role is ideal for someone who is willing to contribute to the committee, share ideas, and support the work of the Board, but not have a specific portfolio to manage.

If you are someone who has a banking background, this would be helpful to our committee, or if you have a background in Fire Safety, this would also be an asset to the Board.

Responsibility:

  1. Attend regular meetings once per month

  2. Participate in the discussions

  3. Bring forward ideas or concerns from the perspective of a broader member-at-large stance

  4. Assist with general tasks as needed

Benefits of Joining:

  1. Serving the Lord with your given Spiritual gifts

  2. Build connections with others withing the church

  3. Learn how the church operates behind the scenes
