Hello Glenbrook!
Good morning, I pray everyone is doing well today. As we come to the end of August and slip into September things here at Glenbrook always start getting a little bit busier. The slow pace of summer picks up, the routines come back and the evening air gets crisper. I've also noticed the sun setting a bit earlier, make sure to take advantage of that vitamin D!
A quick reminder that "Coffee service" will begin on Sunday September the 13th. So please make sure to look at the schedule.
Lastly, a big thank you to everyone who helped with the EMCC picnic, especially the barbecuers and everyone that set-up and cleaned up. Thank you! We had a great time.

McWHINNIE'S CUP GOLF TOURNMENT & DINNER
Glenbrook’s McWhinnie’s Cup golf tournament, formally Glenbrook’s “Ryder Cup”, will be held on Saturday, September 12th at Oakville Executive’s Angel’s View 9-hole golf course located at 4414 Fourth Line, Oakville L6M 4E8 with the first tee-off time @ 2:27 PM.
Everyone planning to golf must sign up no later than Sunday September 6th since teams and names have to be submitted to the golf course before September 8th.
Every golfer, if they have not yet done so, needs to complete the online waiver below. The link to sign the waiver and or QR code that can be scanned are below:

Dinner and prize presentations will be held in Glenbrook’s Hearth Room with dinner starting around 7:00 PM. Dinner fees: $10.00 per person.
The Prize Fund fees, which include 2 mulligans per player, are $10.00. The mulligans may only be used when putting on the green. Both the Prize and Dinner fees are payable to george.ryder@sympatico.ca no later than September 6th.
Golfer’s Fees:

COFFEE TIME
The seasons will change soon and one thing many of us like about this change is the return of Coffee Time following church services. For the long Labour Day Weekend there will still be Lemonade and cold drinks. There will be Coffee and Tea served beginning Sunday September 13th.
If anyone would be able to join our Coffee Volunteer List please know that it is a simple and very rewarding job. Let Cynthia know if you can help. A schedule is made up in the office and will come out in the What's New.

LADIES' LUNCH
Ournext gathering for the Ladies' Lunch is on September 22nd. The location will be announced shortly.
MEN'S LUNCH
The Men's lunch will be on Wednesday September 16th at noon. It will be at Mulligan's Pub. Please sign up if you are planning on attending, there is a sign up sheet on the front lobby table.
THE OPEN DOOR
Glenbrook has a longstanding relationship with The Open Door Ministry at Square One. Glenbrook will be donating/preparing the food for a lunch to be served on Thursday September 17th.
This date is approaching so fast. Please take a look on the Lobby Table to sign up to serve or bring in food items. We anticipate needing 60 servings or more. There is such a need.
SEEKING ROOM RENTAL
Dear friends, we have been asked if we could help a friend who is looking for an unfurnished room to rent in the local area.
She is a friend of Bonnie's, she is employed and would need new accommodation by mid-October
If you know of a room that may be available, or think you may be able to help in any way, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

SUNDAY SCHOOL
There is no Sunday School for August.
Sunday School will indeed start up again on Sunday September 6th for children aged 4years to Grade 6 level. We will start off in the sanctuary with families and be prompted to leave for the Hearth Room with a Leader and Shepherd after the Lord's Prayer each Sunday.
We will enjoy learning from God's word, playing games and doing a craft with friends. We encourage children and youth to attend
