Hello Glenbrook!

Hello again, well how about those Toronto Blue Jays?  It’s good to see people celebrating out in the streets and seeing people happy! Even if you don’t watch baseball, the energy definitely changes people’s moods, and I’ve even noticed strangers engaging in conversations about baseball everywhere I go. It’s quite nice to see especially since it’s hard to have connections with strangers in bigger cities.  Sending the team all the best for tonight’s game!

Upcoming speakers at Glenbrook are Brian Irwin on October 26thNov 2nd and Nov 9th will be Rev. Dr. Victor Shepherd.

Today's Thought: God writes the gospel not in the Bible alone, but on trees and flowers and clouds and stars. – Martin Luther

Have a great week,

Andrea

A MESSAGE FROM PASTOR STEVE

Vacancy Update from Pastor Steve

Session has appointed a Search Committee, and we held our second meeting this week.

The Search Committee members are:
Conrad Fujimoto, Elayne Thomson, Grace Thomas, Justice Agyemang, Margaret Leaver Power, Nancy Alexander, Samantha De Jourden, and Ward Pipher.

The first task of the committee will be to prepare a Congregational Profile. This will involve consultation with the congregation, likely beginning later in October or early November. In the meantime, if you have any questions about the process, or if you would like to share your hopes and dreams for Glenbrook, please feel free to speak with any of the committee members. Above all, I invite you to keep them in your prayers as they begin this important process of discernment.

Thanks, and God bless,
Pastor Steve

As the Family Outreach Coordinator, I will be creating and leading programs for the congregation with a focus on children, youth, and families.  In order to do this effectively, I will need input from you. Please join me in a discussion regarding future church-wide fellowship opportunities. I would like to hear what has worked in the past and what hasn’t.  I would love to hear your ideas for future fellowship events. Please meet me after church on Sunday, November 2 in the Hearth room to get the discussion started.

Live Stream Issues

The Audio/Video team have been working to resolve periodic problems with the Live Stream of our Worship Services.  Without going into the technical details of the cause of the problems and several attempts to fix these, Caroline and George believe they now have a resolution to the problem and have created a "checklist" of equipment settings that will be followed before each Service begins.
