Hello Glenbrook!

I hope you’ve had an enjoyable week and a chance to spend some time outdoors. During a recent visit to the Riverwood Conservancy, I noticed the gardens are starting to come to life! The Credit River was flowing with tremendous force yet many of the small streams were still quite dry. I highly recommend their trail system for a quiet peaceful walk if you've never been there. Speaking of gardens our very own community garden is opening this Saturday! See below for more information.

Have a wonderful weekend and we will meet here again next Friday!

ST. THOMAS à BECKET UPDATE

Many of you have been asking about St. Thomas à Becket’s new Reverend. Below is a short bio about him. If you see him around the building, please stop and give him a warm welcome!

St. Thomas à Becket is delighted to welcome the Reverend Edmund Laldin, who began his ministry with the parish on March 1, 2026. Rev. Edmund comes to us after ten years as Incumbent of the Church of St. Saviour in Winnipeg.

Born and raised in Pakistan, he came to Canada as a young adult and was ordained a deacon in 1995 and a priest in 1996. His ministry has taken him from the lower north shore of Quebec to Western Newfoundland, and eventually to Winnipeg in 2012. Over more than 30 years of ordained ministry in the Anglican Church of Canada, Rev. Edmund has served a wide range of parish communities and contributed to numerous Provincial and National Church committees and task forces.

He holds degrees in Commerce, Divinity, and Theology, and his academic work has explored contextual liturgy, relational preaching, and the Church’s relevance in a post‑modern world. Rev. Edmund describes himself as “passionate about cultivating and nurturing a culture of inclusion,” a commitment that has shaped his ministry throughout his career.

Rev. Edmund’s wife, the Venerable Karen Laldin, is also an Anglican priest and currently serves as an Archdeacon in the Diocese of Rupert’s Land.

Rev. Edmund is looking forward to opportunities for shared ministry with Glenbrook Presbyterian and hopes to deepen the relationship between our two congregations.
