REVEREND JINSIL PARK'S UPCOMING VISIT TO GLENBROOK - SAT JUNE 13th
As we sure you are aware, the Glenbrook Search Committee has been working for many months to find a suitable new lead minister for our congregation. The committee reviewed numerous candidate profiles, conducted 5 first round interviews, and 2 second round interviews. After prayerful deliberation, the search committee made its recommendation to the Session of Glenbrook.
On May 19th, the Session unanimously accepted the recommendation and invited the Rev. Jinsil Park to preach for the call on Sunday, June 14th.
Rev. Park was ordained in 2021. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Briarcrest Seminary and a diploma in Ministry from The Presbyterian College., Montreal. Most recently he served as the lead pastor at Westwood Presbyterian Church in Winnipeg from September 2021 to earlier this year. Prior to ordination, he served as a lay missionary with Knox Presbyterian Church in Whitewood, Saskatchewan from 2015 to 2018 and served in a wide range of wider church settings dating back to 2011.
The Search Committee sees him as a man of God with a deep love of God and a deep love of people. His ministry is rooted in the Word and he has a warm, approachable manner that connects naturally with people of all ages and backgrounds.
You will have an opportunity to get to know Rev. Park at an informal “Meet and Greet” session at Glenbrook in the Hearth Room on Saturday, June 13th from 2 to 5 PM. If you are there around 3:15, there will be a short, moderated introduction to Rev. Park.
Members of Glenbrook, are each asked to vote on accepting Rev. Jinsil Park to be our new lead minister. All voting must be done in person at the congregational meeting that will immediately follow the worship service on June 14th.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any member of Session, the Search Committee, or your elder.
CAMPERSHIP CONCERT
Last Saturday, Glenbrook hosted a Campership Concert featuring ‘The Bag of Ham’ band and ‘In the Vineyard’ - Nancy’s group. All donations are going to Camp Cairn’s Campership fund. This fund subsidizes the cost of camp to make it more affordable for families to send their children to camp. We raised $ 1,640!! That is amazing and will go a long way to help children get to camp. Thank you to everyone donated and everyone who helped to make this concert possible.
MUFFINS FOR MISSION
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Muffins for Mission campaign last week. We were able to raise $ 155 for Change Her World.
MEN'S LUNCH
The next lunch will be held on Wednesday June 17th at noon. There will be a sign up sheet on the front table for anyone that is interested in attending. Lunch will be at Mulligan's Pub. Thank you!
LADIES' LUNCH
Ladies' Lunch on Tuesday, June 23 at 12 noon. A decision as to where we should go: Montana's on Dundas by Canadian Tire (Winston Churchill) or Chuck's Roadhouse in Westdale Mall. Let me know your thoughts on the sign-up sheet and I will confirm reservations.
Thank you!
Bonnie
